Biography

Grant has extensive experience litigating complicated divorce and custody cases. He has practiced law in Colorado since 2008 starting as a public defender and transitioning to private practice in 2011, when he first started representing clients in family law. He has focused exclusively on family law since 2018.

Grant graduated law school from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He started his legal career as Deputy State Public Defender in the Steamboat Springs regional office. As one of only four deputy public defenders for all of northwestern Colorado, Grant quickly gained significant trial experience.

In 2011, Grant, along with two other attorneys, started a boutique litigation practice in Steamboat Springs. While the firm handled all types of litigation matters, Grant focused on family law, criminal defense and federal civil rights litigation. Notably, Grant successfully represented numerous clients against the City of Steamboat Springs and its police officers. As a result of these cases, the City of Steamboat Springs initiated sweeping reforms of its police department, including firing its chief of police.

Desiring a return to city living and to focus on helping families, Grant moved to Denver in early 2018.

When not practicing law, Grant can be found in his vegetable garden, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, playing fetch with his dog Winston, or biking. Grant lives in Denver with his wife, Lauren.
