Originally from Chicago, Associate Attorney Ian Myers brings a background in public service and extensive courtroom experience to his family law practice. His decision to pursue a career in law was rooted in a desire to help people navigate some of life’s most difficult and personal circumstances. Having worked closely with individuals and families during challenging times, Ian brings a thoughtful, practical approach to family law and a strong commitment to serving his clients effectively.
Ian earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Azusa Pacific University before attending Regent University School of Law, where he graduated in May 2024. During law school, he gained hands-on courtroom experience with the District Attorney’s Offices for Colorado’s 1st and 18th Judicial Districts, progressing from intern to student attorney. These experiences provided Ian with a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy and continue to inform his approach to representing clients.
After graduating from law school and being admitted to the Colorado Bar, Ian returned to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney. He handled a broad range of criminal matters, including DUI offenses, protection-order violations, assault, theft, and sexual offenses. He also handled an extensive number of domestic violence and child abuse cases, gaining firsthand insight into the complex and sensitive issues affecting individuals and families.
Ian worked closely with PorchLight, a local organization serving survivors of domestic violence, regularly meeting with survivors and their families as criminal cases progressed. This experience strengthened his ability to listen carefully, communicate clearly, and navigate the sensitive and often complex circumstances surrounding domestic violence cases. He also served as a juvenile prosecutor, collaborating with Guardians ad Litem, the Department of Human Services, schools, families, and other community partners on cases involving children.
During his time as a prosecutor, Ian tried more than 40 criminal jury trials, in addition to numerous bench trials. That experience developed his skills in evaluating evidence, preparing cases for trial, working with witnesses, and advocating in the courtroom—skills he now brings to family law litigation.
Ian believes effective representation begins with clear communication. He works to ensure that clients understand what is happening in their case, what to expect from the legal process, the options available to them, and the decisions they may need to make. His goal is to provide clients with the information and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their families and their futures. Recognizing that family law matters can affect nearly every aspect of a person’s life, Ian approaches each case with care, preparation, and steady advocacy.
Ian’s connection to family law is personal as well. Born in Colombia, he was adopted by American parents through an international adoption. His own experience has given him a unique perspective on the many ways families are formed and the importance of family in a person’s life. That perspective, combined with his background in public service, led him to family law.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys exploring Colorado’s mountains with his family and spending time with his dogs.

I found Alexandria White through a neighborhood referral page and this office did not disappoint. From the very first meet (consult) she was very realistic about cost (less than I anticipated), timeframe, and the process. Advice was helpful in every choice I had to make.
