VIDEO: Will alimony or maintenance apply in my case?

In the past, alimony -- or maintenance, as it is now referred to in Colorado -- was determined on a case-by-case basis. That meant parties going through divorce were never quite sure how maintenance would apply in their cases until it was finally ordered by the judge.

However, in January 2014, a new law took place in Colorado that set statutory guidelines for establishing maintenance. The guidelines are based on factors including the parties' incomes, and they mean that your lawyer can give you a much better estimate as to whether maintenance will likely apply in your case and how much may be ordered.

To find out if you may be responsible for paying maintenance or you may be eligible to receive maintenance after your divorce, set up an appointment with an experienced family law attorney at the Law Office of Alexandra White, PC.
